Tree Potting Party
Robin Hanes writes: “It was wonderful to have a good turnout of volunteers to pot the many trees CATS has over-summering at Jay’s nursery. I had asked people to come, spur of the moment, after a consensus at Linda Knapp’s picnic favored potting asap. This way we will have plants ready to distribute this fall.
“Lester Henderson and assistants had the plants arranged beautifully in raised beds. Now they will enjoy a cool, shady area where they will be watered as needed. Wonderful soil, tables, wagon and barrow, labels were all ready for us, donated by Jay. He also had ordered excellent tree pots in 2 sizes. We used those and recycled pots from Cheryl Borgman, a source from the Tree Commission, Phil, JoAnn and others. Thank you all for hard work, long hours on a beautiful, cool day!!
I need help researching the many varieties and their growing needs for the sales. If you’d like to help, give me a call at 434-202-0225 or 828-242-4212.”
