In a written statement, Robin said “Historic, beautiful trees enrich our world. This was a yard full of them. They were chipped up in a matter of minutes. They grew tall, shaded us and our forbears, cleaned our air, for at least 75 years.

“I do not recommend illegal action on behlf of trees, but I do recommend taking note of your surroundings. Talk to your neighbors; praise those who allow trees to flourish on their property, especially healthy old growth; plant saplings–a wide variety–and enjoy their transformation over time. We need trees and green spaces for our spirits, our health and to soften the quick growth of walls and pavements.”
