Steps to facilitate Tree Steward attendance to an event

Know of an event suitable for the Tree Steward Event Table and want to facilitate Tree Steward attendance to that event? Planning usually occurs a minimum of 4-5 weeks prior to the event. Here are the steps that you should follow:

    1. Contact Event sponsor, ask the following questions, and reserve a space at the Event, if appropriate.
      • Is Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards the right fit for the Event?
      • Is there are fee to participate as a non-profit?
      • Is there a fee for volunteers to enter the Event?
    2. Recruit volunteers
      • What is the time and date of the Event?
      • How many shifts and how many volunteers are needed each shift?
      • Contact the Communications Committee chairperson to create an Event Sign Up on Track it Forward.
      • What kind of information are you planning to give out?
    3. Pick up the Suitcase of Information and CATS Banner at Virginia Department of Forestry. Please sign these materials out. These materials should be returned within 7 days.
