Thanks to all the many customers who came to our Spring 2022 Tree Sale early and bought all our trees by 11:30. Our apologies to those customers who had to leave disappointed. We hope to see you at future Tree Sales.
The Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards’ Spring Tree Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9 2022 at the Virginia Department of Forestry, 900 Natural Resources Drive, in the Fontaine Research Park.
You will have the opportunity to purchase young trees priced from $5 to $15, most grown by the volunteers who maintain the CATS nursery on the Virginia Department of Forestry grounds. We plant saplings obtained from VDOF and other sources and concentrate on native trees, some of which are hard to find from commercial sellers. Take a look at the list of the trees available here.
CATS will also offer guided Arboretum and nature trail walks, starting with a bird walk at 7 a.m. See details here. Masks are recommended. Plus, Aromas Café will be open for this event.
