Tree ID Walk at Mint Springs Valley Park

September 24 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Mint Springs Valley Park, one of Albemarle County’s oldest parks, has a rich history and a wide variety of native trees. Join Tree Stewards Scott Syverud and Steve Huff on this tree ID and history walk on grassy areas near the beach and woods.

The walk will include a discussion of 15-20 native tree species as well as incorporate the history of the park as we amble along the Upper Lake Trail. This is an easy half mile walk on a mainly level trail with a few short uphill stretches in mixed sun and shade. The walk is estimated to take 1.5 to 2 hours depending on questions from the group.

Please dress comfortably according to the weather conditions, it is suggested you wear hiking boots or sneakers, and bring water and food, if needed.
