Tree Identification: Fall Walk

Join us to find leaves displaying their underlying pigments. Emily Ferguson will use fall color and other tree characteristics to help identify different trees along the way. This walk will take place at Walnut Creek Park (4250 Walnut Creek Park, North Garden, VA 22959). We will meet at the first parking lot on the right-hand side of the road (where the boat launch is also located).

This is an easy-to-intermediate hike over woodland trails. If you are already a tree enthusiast, please bring your favorite tree ID book, hand lens, and/or binoculars as aids. Also, remember to dress for comfort as we will not be walking very fast, wear hiking boots or sneakers, and bring water and food, if necessary.
