CATS TREE SALE – OPEN TO THE PUBLIC  Saturday April 15 from 10am to 12:30; Virginia Department of Forestry, 900 Natural Resources Drive, Charlottesville VA 22903.  Native trees and shrubs from our own CATS nursery.  Come early for best selection!

MONTICELLO TUFTON FARMS OPEN HOUSE  Saturday April 22 from 9am to 2pm; CHP & Tufton Farms, 1293 Tufton Farm, Charlottesville VA  22902.  We’ll be at the Earth Day / Spring Open House and plant sale at Monticello’s Center for Historic Plants and Tufton Farms.  Hope to see you there.

CROZET ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL Saturday/Sunday May 14 and May 15 from 10am to 5:30pm; Claudius Crozet Park, Crozet VA  22932.  The Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival is one of Central Virginia’s premier juried Arts and Crafts events.  It features local food, Virginia wine and beer, live music from local performers, children’s activities, and more at beautiful Claudius Crozet Park in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  We’ll be there!

ALBEMARLE COUNTY FAIR James Monroe’s Highland, July 27, 4-9 p.m. 10am to 9pm; 2050 James Monroe Pkwy, Charlottesville, VA 22902.  On the fairgrounds at James Monroe’s Highland, featuring livestock animals, agriculture products, craft exhibits, live music, historic demonstrations, food trucks.  Don’t miss it!

Arbor Day Events April 29

Two exceptional old trees have been designated as CATS Landmark Trees. 

  1. April 29, 2022  10:00 – 10:30 a.m.   at Sojourners United Church, 1017 Elliott Ave. at Monticello Ave.    City officials, tree stewards, tree commissioners,  and others gather at Sojourners  Church for Arbor Day announcements and recognition of CATS new Landmark Elm.
  2.  April 29, 2022  5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Mint  Springs Valley Park in  Crozet (meet at the trailhead kiosk).   Crozet, County, and Park officials join Tree Stewards for a few words about Arbor Day and Tree Stewards’ Landmark Tree Designation for the Boundary Oak.  This is a large, historic Northern Red Oak at the park boundary.

CATS Tree Sale, Virginia Department of Forestry, 900 Natural Resources Drive, Charlottesville.   Our first Spring public tree sale in three years.  We offer mostly native trees and shrubs that are not always easy to find.
