C.A.T.S. Tree Sales

Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards maintains its own tree nursery, entirely run by volunteers.    We plant saplings obtained from the Virginia Department of Forestry and other sources and nurture them until they are large enough to be planted out.   We concentrate on native trees, some of which are hard to find from commercial sources.

Normally we hold tree sales for the general public twice a year, in Spring and Fall.  This was not possible in 2020 and Spring 2021 due to the various restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fall 2021 Tree Sale

We recently announced that we will hold the next tree sale on October 9, 2021 in conjunction with the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants at Tufton Farm in  Albemarle County.    Thank you to everyone who has Volunteered or Registered for the CATS Fall Tree Sale.  The event is completely full, with registrations hitting the 700 person limit for the six time slots that were offered by Tufton for the event. These restrictions were made to control parking and crowds in the face of COVID. As a result, there can be no additional visitors at this event.  If you are not already registered for the October 9 tree sale, we hope to see you in the Spring.
