A team of Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards provided training to a dozen area residents May 20th on how to select a tree for planting, how to plant it and how to care for it. Best practices on each of these subjects were discussed, then we planted a Red Oak tree at the Ivy Creek Natural Area to demonstrate how to plant a tree so that it not only survives, but flourishes.
